New band site and our May 10th show

Hi all -
With the help from a dear friend, our new band website is up and is looking very good. Please feel free to check it out and sign up for our mailing list.

http://www.blackbirdorchestra.com/

We'll be posting video interviews in the next few months and some surprises so please bookmark the site and keep checking.

Yesterday afternoon we played at the "Wayfarers of the Gypsy mansion" event which was held at the Little Red Studio in Seattle.
Thanks to the promoters of the show. This was such a nice change from the usual club gig.
We introduced two new songs to rock out the set with.
Euphoria Astray and Hypatia. Both seemed to be received well and generated some nice compliments. :)

We had merchandise to sell (finally) including T-Shirts, Buttons and Stickers. We'll be looking to sell T-Shirts online so please check out the new sites store. (Coming soon)

Thanks to all for coming out and we'll see you soon.

Dumbest quote from yet another journalist suggesting a deceptive connection.

Taken from http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/20090213/sc_livescience/13factsaboutfridaythe13th

13 facts about Friday the 13th.

"13. The seals on the back of a dollar bill include 13 steps on the pyramid, 13 stars above the eagle's head, 13 war arrows in the eagle's claw and 13 leaves on the olive branch. So far there's been no evidence tying these long-ago design decisions to the present economic situation. "

Idiot.
NORAD tracking Santa since 1958

This is cute -

NORAD officials are hesitant to list all the potential sites Santa will visit with certainty.
"Historically, Santa has loved the Great Wall of China. He loves the (Space) Needle in Seattle. He of course loves the Eiffel Tower," Reddish said. "But his path is completely unpredictable, so we won't know."
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081224/ap_on_re_us/tracking_santa
Normally i avoid reading comments on you tube but came across this comment linked to a Cold War documentary. (my new favorite topic)

I come from Poland and now live in Germany. It amazes me how much support socialism has despite the awful performance of its ideals in my home country and elsewhere. The experiment with it ended in poverty, cruelty and disaster yet so many in Western Europe not having experienced that support it. One of my greatest disappointments in Western Europe is that it does not learn from experiences of the Eastern part.

My take on the comment is that Western Europe doesn't have one true Socialist country but rather countries that have leanings towards Socialism embedded within Capitalism (of some sorts).
I suppose it's easy to view socialism favorably when the wheels of capitalism keep the socialist programs alive and well.

Also of interest is the great divide between Western and Eastern Europeans themselves.

An exceprt from an interview with Jeremy Brett on playing Granada's Televsion series character Sherlock Holmes

"Is that what you admire the most about him?

I think it is his power of deduction which is--you see, children have it until the age of 8, and then they lose it because they're told not to look out the window and to concentrate on their Latin. Holmes has been endowed by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle with the antennae of a child. Also, something else--feminine intuition, which I didn't realize until I played him for awhile. He makes these little leaps. You know how a woman can get an answer that a man has to work his way towards, get all the facts?"

I love this series.

<lj-embed id="13" />
I love how doing something stupid and illegal gets applauded by passer-byes.
http://www.komonews.com/news/24031614.html
No thought what-so-ever to personal injury (which is fine by me) or the effect of his actions will have on transit and traffic.

Every Metro bus was required to stop and check to see if that asshole was actually on that bus.

But no, Mr. Freeloader had to show the world something we already know...

Stupid useless people do stupid useless things

It is a very good thing that i am not (currently) king....a very good thing... :P
